Not our night Magic fans
Disappointing D in the first half saw us go down by 16 & still be trailing by 8 at the half. We were able to cut the lead to 1 during the 3rd before the Spurs extended the lead back out to double figures. By the end of the 3rd we were 4 points down.
With just shade over 9 minutes left in the 4th we took our first lead of the game building it to 6. Unfortunately we could not hold on to it & the lead swapped several times over the final 6 minutes as the teams fought for the W.
A Controversial & Heartbreaking End
In the final play of the game the Magic stole the ball from a sloppy Spurs possession & drove on the fast break getting the ball to Evan Fournier. Evan’s attempt at a game winning layup heartbreakingly rolled off of the rim at which point the buzzer sounded. I am firmly of the opinion that Patty Mills fouled Evan on the attempt & we should have had free throws.
We remain 7th after the Nets also lost in Miami. 6th is looking even less likely now as the Pacers took another win
