A frustrating final quarter and a half cost the Magic as Detroit earned their first win of the season in Cade Cunningham’s NBA debut.
The Magic held a 67-60 lead on a Mortiz Wagner three ball with 5:13 to play however Detroit responded with a 22-6 run which put the Pistons up 82-73 heading into the final frame.
Orlando put up a fight but turnovers and too many second chance points for the Pistons meant Orlando ran out of time in their comeback attempt.
The Pistons were lead by Jerami Grant with 22 points with Kelly Olynyk notching 18 points off the bench.
Chuma Okeke made his first appearance of the season and notched 2 points and 1 rebound in 14 minutes of action.
Top Performers For The Magic
Mo Bamba – A very efficient 10 points in 29 minutes, but didn’t have the same rebounding numbers as the night before notching only 3. Shot the ball well from 3 going two for two.
Cole Anthony – Didn’t get as free as he has in recent games still managed a Double Double in 15 points and 10 rebounds
Franz Wagner -Lead the Magic with 19 points, and continued to show his versatility on the floor creating and scoring as well as being a solid defender.
Jalen Suggs – Struggled from the floor shooting 3/13 for 10 points but was great defensively keeping the Pistons in check.
