Last night saw Orlando suffer a tenth straight loss as Washington ran out 106-112 winners. It was another close game that saw the Magic rally after trailing heavily. Whilst the current run may be disappointing the nightly efforts have been exemplary, often seeing Orlando in with a chance of winning.
The opening possession saw Orlando come up empty after missing 8 shots
Both Kyle Kuzma and Cole Anthony fell an assist short of triple-doubles. Kuzma led the Wizards as he registered 19 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. For Orlando Cole Anthony had 19 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.
Franz Wagner tallied 14 points, 6 rebounds and a career-best 10 assists. By getting 10-plus assists in at least one game Franz became only the eighth Magic rookie to reach that statistic. He joins some great company in Penny Hardaway, Chucky Atkins, Jameer Nelson, Andre Barrett, Victor Oladipo, Elfrid Payton and R.J. Hampton. Franz is the only forward on the list.
After Orlando suffer a tenth straight loss the road ahead gets no easier. Next up is the first night of a back-to-back on the road in Charlotte and then Dallas. The Charlotte game is on Friday, January 14th.
