THE MAGIC FALL IN THE AMWAY TO THE CELTICS

Not our night Magic fans

BOSTON CELTICS 109 – 98 ORLANDO MAGIC

Feel like I’ve written some of this previously…

16 points up in the 2nd quarter, somehow we went in only 4 points up at the half. Going double digits down, we fight back & have opportunities to get the game close & miss them all.

A MISSED OPPORTUNITY

With the C’s missing Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown from their starting lineup, along with Enes Kanter from the bench this felt like an opportunity to get a good performance & a win against a top 4 Eastern Conference side.

As it was Kemba Walker got whatever he wanted, scoring 37, 6 assists & 4 steals. Gordon Hayward hit 22 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists & got a steal. Daniel Theis scored 16 points whilst getting away with some very physical play. Their role players stepped up & contributed on both ends of the floor.

Going into last night we knew that they are a team in the top 5 on both the offensive & defensive rankings & this showed. They shut our offence down in the second half, allowing us only 41 points.

NOT A NIGHT OF MAGIC

We were led by Evan Fournier again with 30 points. Nikola Vucevic had another double-double with 17 points & 12 rebounds, though being honest his offensive play was inefficient again shooting a field goal percentage of 33.3%.

This result move us to 21-25, with us 7th in the East. The Nets are 18-25. If they win their 3 games in hand they draw level with us but at present we hold the tit-breaker over them. Our schedule doesn’t let up any yet. We face the Clippers on Sunday in the Amway, then move to Miami facing the Heat on Monday on the second night of a back-to-back.
