The Orlando Magic 2023 Preseason

The Orlando Magic 2023 preseason will begin at New Orleans on Tuesday, October 10th and closes with the visit to Orlando of Brazil’s Flamengo at the Amway Center on Friday, October 20th.

Sandwiched between those two fixtures are two other games. The Magic play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, October 12. Orlando then head home and host the Pelicans on Tuesday, October 17.

Our Opponents

The New Orleans Pelicans finished the NBA season on a 42-40 record, seeing them 9th in the Western Conference. The Pels were eliminated by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Play-In Game by a score of 123-118. At present the Pelicans are led by star forwards Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson and guard CJ McCollum. Support comes in the form of Herbert Jones, Trey Murphy III and Jonas Valanciunas.

The Cleveland Cavaliers finished 4th in the Eastern Conference with a 51-31 record. Elimination from the NBA Eastern Conference First Round came at the hands of the New York Knicks 1-4. Cleveland are a talented squad. A starting five of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Isaac Okoro, Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley is a force. From the bench they were seeing support from Caris LeVert, Cedi Osman, Raul Neto, Ricky Rubio, Robin Lopez, Dean Wade and Danny Green.

This will Flamengo’s third trip all-time to Amway Center (2014, 2018) and the fourth time that the Magic and Flamengo have faced each other during the preseason. In 2015, Orlando travelled to Brazil as part of NBA Global Games in Rio.
